National Conventions

This is a biannual event held in August of the convention year. During this event, OGA launches programs that are focused on our core values and objectives in order to raise funding necessary to accomplish the set goal. It also serves as a networking event for member and a time for members to interact within themselves as we reminisce on past projects and activities while planning for the future of the organization.

Health Care Programs

OGA is a string believer that health is wealth. A healthy community is a productive community. With this in mind, the organization is not leaving any stone unturned in our collective resolve to provide healthcare awareness and support to our members and our community both in USA and beyond. Statistics has shown us that in rural communities, preventable diseases are the most common cause of death and women die in childbirth due to lack of pre-natal care and availability of medical professionals. The problems are about awareness, access, and infrastructure. We rely on the guidance of our medical practitioner members who lead our healthcare efforts.

Welfare and Empowerment Programs

We are fully engaged in helping the close the disparity gap caused by poverty within our community. We engage in empowerment programs that puts people back to work so as to be self-sustenance. Entrepreneurship is a key element to financial independence. OGA cares for widows and orphans and makes effort to ensure that hunger is not a barrier. Being hungry impacts everything in people’s lives. When people can’t cover their basic need, families struggle to find a way out of poverty. It’s harder to take advantage of economic opportunities or get involved in community actions. Kids who are hungry don’t do as well in school — if they are able to go at all. Babies who don’t get the right nutrition early in life may never reach their full potential as adults. We lead to solve for their barriers.

Educational Awareness and Support

Education and the right to work are the most powerful tools in overcoming extreme poverty. OGA is fully aware of the power of education and the educational gap between the developed and underdeveloped regions within our ecosystem. Our education programs provide tailored solutions to students facing multiple barriers to education to acquire relevant skills, creating opportunities for positive transitions to secondary school and dignified livelihoods. Our integrated approach is based on extensive research on what works and our own experiences to increase marginalized children learning outcomes, retention, and wellbeing.
